Caption: I read your article about how 13,000 or so years ago, an apocalyptic catastrophe cause an ice age that lasted 1,000 years. The Younger Dryas cold period. And 1,000 years later, that ice age suddenly ended, maybe in a single day, causing a global flood. It would explain the sudden disappearance of a lot of megalithic civilizations ... the end of Atlantis ... all the ancient flood myths ... we may have come close to extinction. I'm just saying, there've been worse years. 2018 wasn't that bad, Lemon.

Caption: We were respectable in those days, Rosencrantz. Which days, Tyrone? Those Halcyon days when we were finally on our own, still young and full of promise ... before the world picked us up and whittled away our options like we were pieces of driftwood. I think it was the period between October third, 1991, and October fifth, 1991. I remember that. (This cartoon was previously published on 2016-10-27)

Caption: I hear your campaign's going very well, Mort. My what is going what now? … For Congress. You campaign for Congress. You were running neck-and-neck for a while with the incumbent, Congressman Snidely. But now you're up by three. Oh. Must be that Blue Wave they keep talking about. Or maybe it's that people find my progressive values to be very attractive. Yeah. That, and they finally buried him, so the mourning period is over. I'm looking forward to the debate.

Caption: Remember that time Donald Trump tried to "reach out to black voters"? Of course. That was just last month. The same day he tried to "reach out," he was asked about his "Make America Great Again" thing. They asked him what period in American history was "great." Trump said the '80s and the Industrial Revolution era, which was in the 1800s. In the '80s, there was that "drug war" that put more black people in jail than white people for havin' basically the same drugs. Plus we had to wear them short gym shorts. No dude should wear shorts that short. Ever. For a couple obvious reasons ... An' if there's one way to reach out to black people, it's to tell us the 1800s was good times. Just to be fair, there's no evidence he actually knows what happened in the 1800s.

Caption: Google told me how to get you to go to sleep. Bwing it on! Experts divaricate on the matter. Mindell advocates progressively shortening the amount of time I remain in your room. Ferber, contrarily, posits closing your door for successively longer periods of time. The AAP postulates allowing you to select your own pajamas and sleep with teddy bears and other transitional objects will ameliorate your odds of success vis-a-vis somnolence. Zzzzzz. Brazelton posits that. I thaid Zzzzzz. (Originally published on 2012-04-12).

Caption: Update your Date-a-Dude.com profile: Looking for: A man who's a good listener. … Unlike all the OTHER guys I've dated. Also … A man who doesn’t want to date me just to prove to his friends he can date a pretty woman, or just to prove to himself that he isn't gay. I am SO OVER guys like that. A man who isn't a lying, cheating jerk like the last guy I dated. Actually, like ALL the guys I've dated. Maybe like all guys, period. A man who doesn't have any KIDS or any CRAZY, JEALOUS EX-GIRLFRIENDS. The guy I'm hung up on right now (I'll probably tell you all about him) has both and it's REALLY annoying. In short, I want someone with no baggage.

Caption: Sasha Mitchell said back in college she wanted to "give" you a baby? Yeah, isn't that flattering? What is this, the Victorian Age? A baby is a precious soul two people bring into the world together, not a "thing" to be "given" to a man like a gift! I kinda wish bustles would come back bustles were cool. I CAN'T STAND IT!!!

Caption: So what if the president spied on us even before 9-11? It's his Constitutional duty. The Constitution says he has to protect the American people from all enemies, foreign and domestic. No it doesn't. Article 2 Section 1 is the only part describing what the president protects. He's sworn to "preserve, protect and defend" the CONSTITUTION. Period. Well, I guess we'll have to agree to disagree. Huh? What do you mean? You said something's in there that isn't in there. You're just flat out wrong. In your opinion. IT'S NOT AN OPINION.

Caption: I look at you, the man who will marry my little girl, and I see the end of an era. The end of her childhood, the end of my relevance in her world. The end of my youth, the end of my tomorrows. Dwindling life. Darkness. Death. On the bright side, it'll all be over soon. I can feel myself wrinkling.

Caption: In the year 75066… Why'd the Democratus Congressorus go extinct, L-Munt? Tough to say, Cleeb. Most records from that time period were lost during The Great Burn. Extinct Species. Neanderthal. Democratus. Positivus Rapperus. Archaeologists pieced together what little we know from something called "Fox News Tapes." Talking Headus Fox "News". Apparently, the primitive species' supreme leader was a loud biped called "Hannity."

Three long years, filled with futile wars, stolen elections, lost cities, new jobs, receding hairlines, babies born, icons dying … Three whole years, you guys. Lemont, I'm sure that's not the same gum you put under the table. Don't y'all ever clean up in here?
