Caption: "Your thigh bone's connected to your hip bone … Your shoulder bone's connected to your neck bone … Your neck bone's connected to your head bone … Now hear the word of the Lord!" James Weldon Johnson wrote that almost 100 years ago. Yeah, well … I still don't see why it's James Weldon Johnson's fault you just had to pay $5,000 to get your teeth fixed. It's obvious, Lemont. For 100 years, they've been indoctrinating us at an early age into not considering teeth to be an integral part of the body. That's what lets health insurance get away with not covering dental. I bet the HMOs paid the guy not to even mention the tooth bone. It's the only explanation for such a glaring omission. First of all, I'm not sure "tooth bone" is a thing ... which is proof that a century of brainwashing works.

Caption: It's coming back to me slowly, doc. I remember a pyramid that was not a pyramid, a kiss that was not a kiss, and a story without end. Dr. Noodle. These are dreams you're talking about, Lemont. Not memory. DREAMS. PhD. I know the difference, doctor. THESE ARE MEMORIES! THESE ... Just wondering, does my HMO pay for recovered memories? Or just dream analysis? PhD. Yeah, they cover memories too. PhD. Ok. (Ahem ... ) THESE ARE MEMORIES! (Published originally on April 28, 2011.)

Caption: On Today's Sunday Morning Political Show, we have -- BOOOO! Um ... We have the audience from the last few republican presidential debates. The ones who booed a gay soldier ... ... Cheered at the thought of a hypothetical comatose man dying because he has no health insurance ... ... And errupted with joy at the mere mention that Rick Perry executed people. ... Lots of people. Thank you for joining us, debate audience. I don't deserve to be here. I've been bad. I've gotten used to the notion that we're all in this society together. Whip me. Take away my unemployment insurance ... Um ... We'll be right back. Let my HMO deny me because of pre-existing conditions again! I deserve it! Punish me!

Caption: The problem with you conservatives is you don't care about PEOPLE. All you care about are businesses. You love ginormous corporations like the HMOs. HMOs are leeches. We should get rid of them all. Then hundreds of thousands of people would lose their jobs. So?

Caption: What's more likely, Lemont? That you had a psychotic break and you're lying on a gurney in Sunnyville sanitarium, hallucinating? Or that you and your therapist are stuck in Mexico, where we were kidnapped, chased by wolves, had tea with the most brutal drug cartel boss in Juarez ... ... And now you're going to interview a demon called La Llorona who steals the souls of the city's children? You're right. That's absurd. My HMO would NEVER cover hallucinations.

Caption: "In 1994, the HMOs aired a 'real' middle-class couple, Harry and Louise, talking about the Clinton Universal Healthcare Plan. Their fears convinced America the plan would lead to shoddy coverage, high taxes and global thermonuclear Armageddon. Then the '94 Harry and Louise disappeared ... ... but now, in our hour of need, they have returned to scare the spit out of us all over again!" When Harry and I were impaled by dolphin, our HMO said it was a pre-existing condition and refused to treat us. Stick to the script! So we died, is what I'm saying... I love my HMO. Government bad.

Caption: Whachoo mean my HMO won't cover this? Well, they read the police report… You apparently told an enormous thug: "Yo momma so fat that YOU fat 'cause you ate yo' fat momma." Then he sat on your leg. I'm not following. What do "stupidity is a pre-existing condition" mean?
