Caption: Can I offer you some constructive criticism? No! Sorry. I was just trying to be helpful. I know, but I don’t need any criticism, constructive or otherwise. I just paint for my own enjoyment and I don’t need any art critic telling me what I'm doing wrong. I guess it's like they say, "Asking an artist what she think about critics is like asking a lamppost how it feels about dogs." And speaking of dogs ... Roscoe! Bad dog! Get away from my lamppost!! I mean ... Easel!

Caption: What happened to your canvas, Mom? It looks like it's been beaten up. It has. I hit it with a stick. That's my new technique for not being intimidated by a blank canvas. You're totally kidding, right? No. It's very empowering. I may try it with my computer.

Caption: Earl, I can't get any paint out of this tube. I think it's a little dried up. It hurts my arthritis to squeeze very hard. Would you squeeze a little onto my palette for me? Oh! Sorry about that, dear. Let me just scrape a little off your shirt. That's all I need

Caption: Well, I'm glad to see you're back to your painting, Mom. Yes. I decided I don't care what anyone thinks about my artwork. I say it's all in how you look at it. And if you stand across the room and squint your eyes, I think my paintings look pretty good.
