Caption: Dr. Stephen Hawking saved my life, doc. How so? Dr. Noodle. I was in a deep dark depression. I wanted to end it all. I was about to. But just then, through my tv, I heard this computerized voice announcing his discovery about black holes. They're the most powerful things there are. But he's discovered that theoretically, they lose mass over time, until they're just ... gone. He said things can get out of a black hole both on the outside and possibly to another universe. So if you feel you are in a black hole, don't give up ... there's a way out. His loss is a moral and intellectual void that'll never be filled. Well that's depressing ... and ... now I'm ok.

Caption: 1982. When I grow up, I want to be a single dad, Lemont. You mean "single mom"? Are you kidding? Compare "Alice" or "Gloria" or "One Day at a Time" with "Diff'rent Strokes" or "Silver Spoons." Single moms all struggle for long hours in dead-end, low-wage jobs. But single dads are all millionaires who don't seem to need jobs at all. My goal in life is to prove tv wrong, is what I'm saying. Fred Sanford's a single dad and he's always having heart attacks.

Caption: Baton Rouge police was called 'cause someone said they saw a man with a gun sellin' CDs. The usual thing happened. Brotha didn't obey fast enough, cops rough him up, say he resisted arrest, he end up dead, an' it all on video. Then black people an' white people see two completely different things lookin' at the same exact video. I'm tellin' you bruh, Gilligan ain't never gettin' off this island. He actually got off in a pretty bad tv movie and ... never mind. Not the time.

Caption: Robin Williams' train to the afterlife reaches the end of the line. Thanks for the smiles. Don’t forget me. Depression. I just don’t want to be forgotten. Nobody should be. Wait … me no fit through door. Wait! You forgot me! Tough luck, loser. No, it's ok. I'll go sleep on couch of everyone he loved.

Caption: Are there any job openings at your ad agency? Really? Lemont, I'm so excited! It's about time you realized there's no future in journalism, that your newspaper is dying, and that it's just stupid at your age to keep wasting time in a dead-end job. … I meant 'cause I know a kid whose mom needs a job. Oh, well ... I ... ay ay. What do you mean "at my age"? (Cartoon originally published 2011-04-19 and 2013-03-12).

Caption: Lemont accompanies a 94-year-old World War II veteran on the train to the afterlife. Last stop, everyone off. It was my honor to accompany you, Mr. Bell. Nobody should have to go alone. I was never alone. In the end I had my sister; her husband' my companion, Dr. Bennie Reams. And my grandson and his fiancée had moved in with me to help out. He was with me when I left for home. You're very proud of your family, aren't you? My grandson's a cartoonist. He's in the papers. Do you Always carry that rolled up in your back pocket?

Caption: Look, Lemont, if you're concerned that our son hasn't spoken yet, why not take him to speech therapy? Then you can pay for it with the nonexistent health benefits your dead-end job doesn't give you. That's a double negative. You're actually saying my employer DOES give me health-- THAT'S NOT THE POINT!!!
