Comic/Cartoon: Candorville
Viewable Date: 2014-03-23 Pub. Date: 2014-03-23
Image Number: 108219
Caption: I'd like you to admit one thing. Which is? Dr. Noodle. That your husband's agreeing to come here is evidence he does care about repairing your relationship. M.A. If, as you believe, your husband is an unemotional, distant man who cares only about being the victor in every aspect of his life ... why would he come here and make himself vulnerable? Because he just wants someone to agree with him that I'M the problem! LOL. Don't you think that's a little cynical? See? The man says you imagine everything. smh.

Caption: I see you're wearing your rose-colored glasses again. They make me happy. You should get a pair. No thanks. I prefer to see the world in all its untinted reality. No false sense of hope induced by corrective lenses. Nope. Not for me. The real world is a cruel and unfair place where the bad guys win. Your rose-tinted world is an illusion. You deny reality, and in return you get happiness. Besides, if I were happy, I couldn't do what I do. What DO you do? Besides make others unhappy? That's what I do.

Cartoonist(s): Darrin Bell
Comic/Cartoon: Candorville
Viewable Date: 2012-01-01 Pub. Date: 2012-01-01
Image Number: 74226
Caption: To be honest, I haven't been on a date in a while. I called you for the first time in three years because I just got out of a long-term relationship with a soul-crushing demon who twisted everything I said to make me seem like I was always wrong … Wrong to like Star Trek, wrong to listen to Lenny Kravitz, wrong to ask her not to yell at me. When I said "Don't yell at me," she would say "Why? You think your special or something?" Pass the salt? I once asked her to pass the salt, and she said "A real man would get the salt himself." She was always doing that kind of thing. I asked you out in the hopes you'll restore my faith in romance before I get cynical and bitter. Note to self: Honesty is not the best policy, Would you excuse me for a moment, as I back away slowly and then start running?

Caption: The Candorville Chronicle. Do you know why the cost of living is rising so fast, Brown? It's because people have grown cynical. People feel the American empire is dying, so everyone's trying to grab their piece of the pie before it'a all gone. We must break this vicious cycle, Brown ... before it's too late. Sir, none of this explains why you won't give me a raise. Fight the cynicism, Brown. Fight it!
