Caption: Obamacare vs. Trumpcare. Insures millions. Gives you the freedom to start your own business. Covers care for poor women. Attempts to address healthcare crisis. Not as good as single payer, booo! Saves lives. Ensures millions will lose healthcare. Gives the finger to you and your business. A cover for defunding Planned Parenthood. Attempts to address crisis of higher taxes on $200,000+ incomes. On second thought, Obamacare wasn't so bad. Dooms lives. Also, the political careers of those who vote for it.

Caption: Republicans plan to "improve" Obamacare by ending taxes that fund it. I feel better already! Dump! Confused? Here's how tax cuts for the wealthy will keep America healthy. More rich guys can afford cryogenics, so postwar earth will be repopulated with winners. Welcome to 2053! Follow me to the breeding chamber. More people can buy their way into other countries with civilized health care. Ah, the fjords are lovely this time of year. The poor are inspired to be well. When I win the lottery, I won't be taxed as much! Pop! I have the will to live!

Caption: Repeal and Destroy. Obamacare freed many to start their own businesses. What will the GOP replace it with? We have a plan for you. It's called Cubicle-Care. Then there's the Super Saver Special. Isn't this gig economy great? You can save for your own healthcare now! And retirement. And a house. And playing off student loans. U. Uber. Maybe they should have to live with the same plans they'll be dumping on the rest of us. What do you mean pre-existing conditions make my premiums $2000 a month?! I'm sorry. May I suggest a fewer steak dinners with lobbyists? Insurecorp. Or not live, as the case may be. Couldn't afford $10,000 insulin. But hey, pharma stocks are up!

Caption: Have you noticed? The size of some food packaging had been quietly shrinking over recent years. Half-gallon (64 oz) of OJ - Now only 59 oz! 8 oz of Hummus now 7 oz. Soup. 15 oz - weak! How will they cut corners next? Cheerio holes will grow larger ... And we'll get the "Swiss Everything" fad. Hole Wheat. Swiss Bread. Mom's Microwavables. Swiss Meatloaf. Three Musketeers bars will be subtly downsized ... 2 Musketeers. And big, crappy toys will be embedded in ice cream. Vinyl Gnome. Perhaps saddest of all, honeybears will slowly be dismembered. Honey. Honey. (This cartoon was originally published on 2010-11-01).

Caption: Many people seem to view government as a shopaholic of sorts. Families are cutting back. Why can't the guv'mint? Tax and spend! That's all these bureaucrats want to do! Some of these profligate officials agreed to speak with us anonymously. It started when I got a rust our of buying manhole covers. Now I get my fix ordering bridge repairs. Somebody please stop me! I'm sorry, but sending disability checks to people with horrific diseases and injuries is simply too much fun! It's like buying a new flat-screen tv every day! In. Out. I know I should cut back on trying to keep feces out of hamburger meat, but the truth is, I get off on preventing foodborne illness. Sorry, taxpayers!

Caption: Slowpoke. The Bush tax cuts for the rich are set to expire, bit not without a fight. Why would people making boatloads of money in THIS economy still need a tax break? I need to buy a Lexus with tinted windows. Driving past people you've laid off can be awkward! I feel occasional pangs of guild that I need to work out with Lady Spankalot. She's not cheap - OUCH! Goldman Sachs trader. I need that money to keep all these homeless people from urinating on my property! This electric grass seems to do the trick. The poor are too lazy to bribe lawmakers, so we need that extra money to do it ourselves. So you can get more tax cuts? Hell yeah!
