Caption: Hey, remember our very first Christmas tree? The tree guy let us have it for 75 cents because it was half-dead. On the way home, we bought a string of lights and a few ornaments at a thrift store. The whole thing cost us about a buck-fifty, but we loved that little tree. Honey, if you're upset that I spent $37 on this ornament, just say so.

Caption: The tree's artificial, the lights contain lead, the spray-on snow is toxic, the ornaments were made in China. I wouldn't eat the popcorn or candy canes and the Styrofoam packaging in those gifts will degrade the environment long after your kids figured out you lied about Santa! Too much eggnog, too much information.

Caption: As near as I can figure it, our aluminum synthetic Christmas tree was too close to the artificial fire in our electric fireplace and it short-circuited the fluorescent light in the simulated candle in our fold-out nativity scene.
