If you DON'T eat your Brussels sprouts, you'll grow up short and puny. No! So what you're saying is positive appeals fail just as often as negative appeals. No!

Caption: Doc, I don't think the medicine you gave me is working. My … visions … are returning. I keep imagining Roxanne is an evil vampire who used me to father a child, in order to fulfill an ancient prophecy, become a daywalker, and conquer the world. And I keep imagining some guy named Saxon Kenchu is her half-human, half-vampire son who tried to help me defeat her but ended up suffering a fate worse than death. I warned you the Flintstones antipsychotic chewables might not work. BUT I CAN'T SWALLOW PILLS!

Caption: I need to tell you the ground rules. Anything you say is just between us … Except for two things: if you threaten yourself or someone else, or if you tell me about a child or a senior citizen who's in danger. Sounds reasonable. Or if you say something so juicy I have to share it with my friends. ... So start by telling me why you have no sense of humor. Ok ... it all started with this obnoxious therapist.

Caption: So you're saying you delivered all the gifts last summer. I figured the cost of reindeer fuel would skyrocket in December. Lichen's cheaper in the off-season. Of course. Anyway, I delivered Xboxes, iPods, the works. But just this week, kids from all over the world sent me their wishes. They don't want iPods. They want their mommies and daddies to have their jobs and their homes back. I see. And you feel you've crushed their dreams, condemning them to lives of bitterness and despair. Actually, I was wondering why I'm such a tightwad, but thanks for giving me another complex.
