Caption: Ronald Racism. Ronnie, yeah. It's Dick Nixon. Listen, understand your feelings about African diplomats … To see those, those monkeys from those African countries -- Damn them, they're still uncomfortable wearing shoes. - Actual quote from 1971 phone call with President Nixon. Historical hypothetical conversation within the commentary boundaries of an editorial cartoon: I don't know why any sentient America would be surprised by this sort of language by you or me ... We've been code talking this since 1964 ... Right ... Goldwater was against the 1964 Civil Rights bill ... JFK threw in with King in '63 and that was the ballgame. Then you came up with the Southern Strategy, which was the dogwhistle racial bigotry that won you the election in '68 and '72. It was so obvious. Our political survival has relied on it ever since. Good god, Ron! You can't just say that out loud! You have to have a little discretion. You have to be subtle! Not anymore. Send them back!

Caption: Creatures of Washington. The Gerrymander. The gerrymander's a slimy beast with a wily imagination. Aiming for every seat, he's tough to beat hijacking legislation. If you've the cash to by a state house he'll throw this game so cryptic. The results he can rig, you future's big when he redraws your district. Incumbency's preserved by his partisan pencil that draws districts wildly distorted. The status quo stays imbued by his lines so skewed the government gets much contorted.

Caption: The Curse of the Gerrymander. The United States are deeply polarized, divided, dyspeptic - a bit demented, all because the cursed Gerrymander makes our Congress so fragmented. It's a hex that horribly homogenizes, drawing districts in strictly reds or blues, always favoring the incumbents and eschewing any purple hues. Imagine if we drew districts cleanly, with a process proportional and fair! We could start to fix all that's broken and not just resort to thoughts and prayer.

Microdistricts enjoy luxurious mobile voting services. Plushpolls. Equal the votes of 10,000 brown people! AS for everyone else, welcome to purge-atory! Sorry, sir.
