Caption: Tell Laurel that I'm sorry. I'll try to listen better. I'll pay more attention to her and I'll try to be less distracted. Our relationship is more important to me than some silly new Apple Macbook that is the thinnest most beautiful laptop ever constructed. She's more important than the sleek and sexy iPhone, the gorgeously rendered collector's edition of Grand Theft Auto IV, or the winsome pitch of an incoming text message. You'll tall her that for me? Not in so many words.

Caption: Where've you been all weekend, Randy? Tibet. Women are coming out of the woodwork to exact justice on men who sexually harassed them years or decades ago. I wanted to know if I owe anyone an apology. So I climbed the tallest mountain and asked a monk to help me meditate, so I could retrieve crystal-clear memories of every time I ever flirted with a woman. Turns out the monk had to resign because he's sexually harassed someone. What the -- ... wait ... No, I'm actually not surprised anymore.

Caption: Hello, you've reached the private line of the Secretary of Defense. At last! We tried calling you all day yesterday to alert you to an imminent threat. How did you get this number? It was coming straight at your nation-state at speeds approaching Kebin 2. What are you talking about? What's "Klebin 2"? Apologies. In earthlingese that would be "mach 23," or 24.140.16 kilometers per hour. Good lord! I'd better wake ... Not to worry. Our sensors locked on to it as soon as it launched from your North Pole. "North ... Pole?"? We incinerated it for you as it approached a chimney in your social-congregate region known as "Seattle." You ... wait ... you did what? You're welcome.

I'm on to you. You're trying to distract me from negative news about you by saying ridiculous things. But you're no Donald Trump, Rudy. Rudy, you were two minutes and one second late today. How do you suggest I deal with this? The cast of "Pippi Longstocking" at Langston Elementary rolled their eyes at Mrs. Wilberforce. They should apologize!

Caption: I made fun of your age the other day. I'd like to apologize. That's odd. Does the blade of grass apologize to the lawnmower? Does the bug apologize to the windshield? Does the ant apologize to the boot? Those are some interesting analogies. Did they make more sense back in the middle ages when you first came up with them? I sense a boot coming

Caption: Little buddy, I believe you owe me an apology. How do you figure? You're the one who left me rotting in a jail cell! You were my one phone call! What happened to Randy's Friendship Rule #7: "Friends always bail friends out"?! You're forgetting the corollary: "Unless the friend's in jail for something pathetic, like trespassing while playing Pokémon Go." Apology accepted. A huge biker took it the wrong way when I tried to catch a Pokémon that was hiding under his beard.

You trying to reach Les or Nick? Whoever is the prime overlord of your secret cabal of billionaires ... What? The what of our which now? Is this not the secret cabal of billionaires that controls the world's elected leaders, manipulates the economy, and determines the very fate of all nations? No, friend, we're the psychedelic rock band from Toronto. But we broke up years ago, eh? Apologies. We seem to have dialed the wrong number. Les has some new tracks on Facebook, though. If you like '80s action movie music, give it a go.

So you accept responsibility for my lack of weight loss and admit you've been complicit in deceptive advertising. I'd be willing to settle out of court for $500,000 and an apology. Thoughts? *Actual reader question. Sounds EXACTLY like love to me. My husband would disagree, but don't mind him, he's just a quarrelsome know-it-all. Ask Sadie at asksadie@rudypark.com.

Nothing makes a self-righteous person happier than having a reason to think their sense of propriety is superior to someone else's. Thank me for making your day, loser! That's not an appropriate response.

Caption: Rudy has asked me to apologize, on his behalf, for your being offended that he may have said you're as old as the supercontinent "Pangea." What kind of weasely apology is that?! He didn’t apologize for saying it! He only apologized that I took offense! That's the same thing as saying "It's too bad you're such an over-sensitive ninny." It's not an apology, it's an insult! And I should know, I created that "apology" back in 1960, when Khrushchev threw a fit over a pebble I may have placed in his shoe.
